Stagecrew Logo Sketch #10

Logo Sketches for Fuchse

Fuchse is a Photographer from Munich Germany who shot many shows in the past. Right now he's sidelined with a scaphoid fracture. I'm currently doing branding and a small website for him, so he can show off his works to the public in the same good quality as his Pics. Here are some Logosketches I made, he decided on #2 which i also liked best because it is the only one that has an real idea behind it, the others are just his name in different styles, which probably would also have worked, but we went with #2. Please note, those are not final logo versions, just concept scribbles

That's the kind of Sketch we probably all tried before. Skull Shape didn't come out that good, but it's just a concept, so i didn't care too much.

Todays Sketch is an experiment. I was drawing a line in Adobe Illustrator, exported  it and opened it in Adobe Photoshop CS5. The letter shapes are all created from the same line with the new CS5 puppet warp tool. I'm probably not gonna give this treatment to Letters often, but still i like that it's possible and with some more time on your hands for stuff like this, great results can be achieved.

Small Info on recent and upcoming posts.

Just in case someone is wondering what's happening here: I'm posting logo design sketches (or scribbles) for our design, development and consulting company in the making: Stagecrew. Our main target group will be bands with heavy guitar driven sound, so please don't try to compare this to "normal" logotype design for regular ad agencies and web design offices. I also want to point out that some of those sketches are made on small postits, some on good ol quality drawing paper, some might be edited, some might be not, some might even be created on screen with illustrator, photoshop, art rage or livebrush. There will be big differences in quality and style. Those Sketches are not meant to be final logo versions, so i really don't care about the quality right now. it's just about the concepts, lettering, logo shapes etc. On another note: they are not posted chronological. i have created about 80 of those before i even started scanning them. They don't follow any order, i just post what i see first hasn't been posted.

Of course there's a reason we post those to the web: we want some feedback. we want you to tell us what you like or don't like, what you think we could make cooler, if you think that S needs a bigger Swirl or that E would look better lowercase. Please tell us about it. The second reason is that we want bands (and anybody else who is interested in hiring us) to know about the ideas we have and that we're not 1-style-designers. We also think it will be helpful for future jobs when we can redirect bands here first and ask them which style they like most and what elements they saw they might want to see in their logo instead of the "which other logos do you like"-question that everybody hates on but still asks it.

We will be doing this not just for our logos but also with mock ups and wireframes for our website design, the design of our business cards etc. so I hope you stay with us on this <3
